Introduction
This page describes a number of discipleship courses that we run at HPCC.
Discipleship Journey
We all are different and need work in different areas of our lives to grow. In an ideal community, everyone is functioning in their area of gifting, serving for the greater good of the whole community. We find fulfillment growing in relationship with God, with each other and being involved in the life of the community together. This is a suggested path/list of courses you may like to follow that we believe are important foundations to build our lives.
Alpha –>> Search for Life –>> Network –>> Specific biblical studies –>> Small Group fellowship –>> Bible studies –>> Ministry Involvement -serving the body using your gifts.
BCNZ
Bible College of NZ run excellent courses on all sorts of topics, ranging from Discovering the Old & New Testament, Culture, Biblical Interpretation, Mission, Pastoral Care, Life planning (some are evening classes). One particularly helpful course is Faith at work -looking at helping us outlive our faith in the marketplace. Contact the Office for further information.
Discipleship Courses
Alpha
Alpha introduces the Christian faith in a clear and compelling way. and helps people come into relationship with Jesus Christ. It is great for the seeker. or new Christian. Duration: 10 weeks
Search for life
This is a program seeking a sound basis for peace of heart and mind. and an answer to the questions. “What do I have to do to be loved. accepted and valued?” It’s a great course. and one in which many people at HPCC have found freedom and significant growth in their walk with the Lord. This is a foundational course for us. Duration: 10 weeks

Divorce Recovery
Offers practical guidance for anyone facing divorce
Man to Man
For men experiencing personal and relational difficulties as a result of a dysfunctional family setting.
Woman to Woman
For women (see Man to man description)
Door of Hope
For women survivors of sexual abuse. Sensitive and loving leadership characterises the atmosphere of this group.
Boundaries
This is a course on relationship skills centring on “when to say yes. and when to say no”. Duration: 10 weeks (could also be done in your small group).
Experiencing God
Know and doing the will of God. This course helps us to learn to hear when God is speaking to you, find out where God is working and join Him, experience God doing through you what only God can do! Duration: 10 weeks (could also be done in your small group).
Network
Putting round pegs in round holes. How has God wired you up? What strengths. giftings, and areas of passion do you have? This course helps identify those, and helps lead us to where we can serve God and the community. Duration: 4 weeks (could also be done in your small group).
Contagious Christian
This is a course designed to equip believers for effective evangelism in today’s world. It avoids stereotyped approaches that feel intimidating to many Christians. Instead. it shows ordinary believers how they can share the Gospel in a natural and powerful way while being the person God made them to be. Duration: 6 weeks (could also be done in your small group).
Homes of Honour
A course which helps participants to restore and enrich relationships. This course would be valuable to couples as well as single people. Duration: 9 weeks (could also be done in your small group).
Marriage weekend
A weekend structured to enable couples to communicate with each other in 12 areas (e.g. conflict, masks. garbage dumping, couple power). There is no group work, and no 3rd party counseling. Duration: 2 Days.
Growing Kids Gods way
This is an in depth course looking at many different areas of parenting, focusing on 2- 12 year olds. It is a discipleship course helping us grow in our relationship with God and each other, thus making us more effective parents. Parenting principles and practical help is a major part .Duration: 18 weeks
Parenting with confidence
A toolbox for 0-5 year olds. Simple, practical help to become backbone parents. Suitable for non-church people. Duration: 6 weeks
